What happens when you go through a life altering event that literally breaks you? Your mind takes the lead in helping your body recover. The mind is powerful and that is one of the reasons why mental health and being in the best state is essential.
Lucy Conlon (@healthylivinglucy) swears by that, after suffering a near-death experience in September 2018; While vacationing with family, Lucy fell from an infinity pool and when her family found her, she was bleeding from her nose, eyes and ears after an internal brain hemorrhage as well as a broken hip and leg, she woke up from a coma to be told that recovery would initially take her about 6 months. Lucy recovered in 6 weeks, and she says she owes that to her discipline in training a strong body.
In January 2019 Lucy began attending the HIIT&BOX classes at Victus Soul. “One of the reason why I came here is because I have to be careful with my mobility. I need to warm up properly. One of the things I really like about Victus Soul is that in the classes, the warm up involves proper mobility stuff before you start doing the workout. They really focus on warming you up and cooling you down.” Above all, she believes that true recovery after an accident is all in the mind. “I was just happy to be alive,” she added.
